We’re just one week away from Trinity Altoona’s annual Spring Fling 2017. Spring Fling, Trinity’s annual neighborhood festival, is coming Saturday May 20. Trinity’s Evangelism Committee is asking for your help to make this year’s event the most successful ever. Here are a few ways you can make a difference: Provide salads (macaroni, pasta, potato etc) or baked goods (brownies, cookies, fudge etc.) that we can sell at the event Donate cases of bottled water or canned soda Volunteer to help set up and/or tear down tents, tables, chairs etc. Volunteer to help serve food during the event Donate money to cover…

Trinity Announces Spring Concert

The Sunderman Memorial Concert Series continues with The Allegheny String Quartet, performing a free concert of chamber music at Trinity Lutheran, Sunday April 30 at 3PM. The quartet features Kim Cook (cello), Jeremy Klapper (violin), Genaro Medina (violin) and Lela Tsinadze (viola). Cook is professor of cello at Penn State University, and is recognized as an international concert artist. Every three years, 30,000 high school youth and their adult leaders gather for a week of faith formation known as the ELCA (Evangelical Lutheran Church of America) Youth Gathering. Next year’s destination: Houston, Texas (June 27-July 1, 2018)! Trinity Stitchers Making A World of Difference

The Trinity Stitchers sewing group recently sent another 25 dresses to disadvantaged girls in Kenya, Africa. This service project was featured last month on Pleasant Valley Assembly of God’s TV series Joy in the City. To date, the Trinity Stitchers have made and distributed approximately 175 dresses. They will soon be announcing a sew date to make more dresses, and everyone is invited to join the group. Even if you don’t sew, there are other things you can do to help. Don’t Forget, Daylight Savings Time Starts Tonight!

Remember to set all your clocks ahead 1 hour before you go to bed tonight. Daylight Saving Time officially begins at 2AM. Cell phones and computers should change the time automatically for you, but you’ll likely need to adjust wristwatches, wall clocks, clock radios, microwave ovens, coffee makers, car radios etc. manually. It’s also a good time to put fresh batteries in your smoke and carbon monoxide detectors. FYI, Daylight Saving Time ends on Sunday November 5. See you in church, on time, tomorrow morning 🙂
